How to watch Netflix in Singapore - Not the crappy SG Netflix content, the full US Netflix Library!

When Netflix announced that they are officially in Singapore now, I was like WOOTS YAY BABY SIGN ME UP NOW PLEASE! TAKE MY MONEY, TAKE MY MONEY!!!

Buuuuuuuuuuut. I didn't realize that the content for Netflix Singapore is SO PATHETIC! 

It's so limited and just simply terrible!!

Like seriously the all the good shows like New Girl, family guy, dexter, Raising Hope.. or classics like F.R.I.E.N.D.S that i would like to watch again and again - are not even available in Netflix SG. 

And you know what, you're paying pretty much the same amount of monthly subscription fee (ranges from $11-$17/month depending on the plan you're on, I took the mid-range one) as Netflix US, but you get like this miserable amount of shows in Netflix SG!

You can obviously tell from the homepage that so much of the good shows are missing already, hell nooooooooooo!

Btw HULU is not accepting non US credit card anymore so that totally sucks since HULU is the one with the up-to-date dramas, I even tried the method of creating a US paypal account and it didn't work. :/ Netflix is great and there are so much stuff on there to watch but their content is available only till the latest complete season for most shows except for the Netflix drama series.

 

Since we're going to use a projector instead of a TV in our new apartment, i definitely want to be hooked up with Netflix so i can have endless entertainment 24/7 obviously! 

So basically to watch Netflix (US Library) in Singapore, you need to use a VPN service to "hide" your IP address and so when you login to Netflix, Netflix will think that you're in US and unlock the maaaaaassive content of the US Library!

Seriously. Awesome.

I'm currently using a VPN service, US IP Address (I got the 12 month plan and it's only US$5.75/month this is not a sponsored post or anything fyi, i'm just sharing what i'm currently happily using) and I'd say I'm pretty impressed with how easy it is to set up, they gave very clear instructions on how to set up on any devices, Windows/Mac/Iphone/Android/Tablets etc and customer service was quick to reply my emails on my questions too.

Basically to set up the VPN on your laptop, you 

1. Download the vpn setup that they email to you upon signing up
2. Run the installer
3. To use the VPN, click Connect, sign in with the username and password 

and YAY ALL ACCESS PASS TO NETFLIX US HEAVEN. HAHAHA

Another VPN service that I would like to try after my 12 month plan with US IP Address ends is HideMyAss, haha just because their site looks really quirky and pretty, also they seem to have 3 servers in Singapore so i think the connection should be very stable? I don't know? Hahahaha

Another method would be Unotelly, I tried to set up the DNS thingy using the free trial for Unotelly, but failed miserably, apparently it was supposed to be real simple too but somehow it didn't work out for me, maybe i'll try it again next time but for now i'll make my life easier and stick with the VPN method.

#FideLeonSeoulAwesome - Eyebrow Embroidery & Permanent Eyeliner

So I've been getting lots of questions on the eyebrow embroidery + permanent eyeliner I did while I was in Korea, so far I've been loving how much time i get to save on a daily basis preparing for work.

But most of all, I love the shape of the brows + liner they did for me! Right now the brows and eyeliner looks like this, I would extend the liner thou since the liner they did for me is more natural and acceptable for when I'm not wearing makeup!

Shiok! Now I don't need to waste precious minutes in the morning trying to draw the perfect liner!

 

Super love the permanent eyeliner! It's like the best thing ever that happened to me HAHAHA

For Eyebrow Embroidery, it's suppose to last for 2 years or so and the eyeliner would last about 5 years!!! Whoa I didn't know it would last so long but thank god the shape they did is so nice!

1 week before heading to Korea i made an appointment with them via kakaotalk (see end of post for how to contact them and prices) 

Waiting area, Leon totally fell asleep here while waiting for me.

Individual treatment beds, so comfy the beds are heated so i fell asleep for abit too. haha

Applying the numbing cream and resting for 20-30 min while waiting for the cream to take effect, the whole process for the brows + eyeliner was about 2.5hours. 

For the brows it didn't hurt at all, literally just feel like somebody is moving a pen over your brows haha just a feeling of a faint pressure on your brows. But the eyeliner.. whoa..! hurts like a bitch and i couldn't stop tearing, I remember i was literally screaming internally "for god's sake please let it be over NOW!!!" T-T

I checked with the therapist and she said it was ok to touch up makeup after the treatment so i touched up my undereye area only with a cushion but i rmb the eyeliner was making my eye hurt so baaaaaad i was tearing non-stop.

The therapist gave me some antiseptic cream + instruction sheet in english to care for the eyebrow embroidery and eyeliner too.

This was how it looked like the very next day, I was told to not apply any eye makeup, no - mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow and falsies and not to use facial foam to clean the brow/liner area for at least 1 week.

You will have to make your appointment with Natural B beforehand, you can download the kakaotalk app and add their number (+82-10-9960-2100) and find them on the app and check with them if they have available appointment on the date/time you would like to drop by.

Price wise, this was what i paid in cash, if you would like to pay with mastercard/visa there will be additional charges of 20,000won somehow so i choose to pay in cash

Review: Sothys Exclusive Black Box

Hello! Black Box has sent me yet another exciting exclusive box, the Sothys Exclusive pack.

I have seen this brand around high end facial boutiques and spas but i've only ever tried one product from their extensive range of products! I can't remember for sure since that was a few years back when i was working in the beauty line but I think it was a body scrub or something? 

I remembered that the scent was quite classic and the product worked pretty well but I did not repurchase because of the slightly high end price tag and also the fact that it wasn't readily available everywhere. You know that saying, out of sight, out of mind. hahaha

I brought this two body products along with me to use during our trip to Seoul, that soft and gentle scent of the Cherry Blossom is so yummy! It wasn't too over the top feminine for Leon so - no complains about the scent hehe the body scrub was quite gentle on the skin but yet it seems to effectively slough off the dead skin and we loved how smooth our skin was!

Since it was quite cold and windy during our trip the shower cream really kept our skin hydrated even when we didn't use any body lotions throughout the trip, so basically it was pretty much a two in one product for us and it worked out really well since we did not have to pack an extra tub of lotion hehehe, save us some luggage space for our shopping!

Review: Etude House Exclusive Black Box

Hello!

I'm so excited to review the latest Exclusive Black Box, this time they have collaborated with Etude House to bring us a box of must-try products. 

I always get drawn into Etude House stores because of the princess-y look of their stores (at this point i will hear the hubbay sighing when i drag him into the store hahaha), plus their products are always so adorable and affordable so you don't feel any heartache even if you buy LOTS of products from them at one go, haha which is totally possible because who doesn't love everything cute and girly?!

I have their flamingo eyebrow trimmer that is so cute and i use it almost everyday to clean up my brow area, it makes me kinda happy when i see it everyday cos it's so cute. hahaha the point is that i really love Etude House!

 

Honestly I've not tried the Etude house BB creams and cushions because there's is so many types and I never know which one to buy so this is the perfect kit for me. Hehe so this comes just in time for me, I get to try first and got the full sizes when I was in Korea last week! Score! :D

Precious Mineral Any Cushion in W13

I have tried 2 base cushion so far, the Laneige pore control & Innisfree Long Wearing Cushion, yes there are both for oily skin which is more suitable for combination skin like mine, I've always wanted to try Etude's house but never gotten around to try it but this little tester is so ADORBS!! 

Look at the mini cushion! Hahahaha pat this on and you will definitely have that glowy skin you've always wanted. The coverage is surprisingly quite good with this cushion even though now I'm breaking out quite a bit but I'm still able to cover the blemish pretty easily with this cushion.

You can see in the above pic i have a little red scar on my knuckle and below i have pat on a little of the Precious Any Cushion and it covers up the redness nicely and gives a glowy finish!

I tried it on my face today when i went to the dentist and i was pleasantly surprised to see that after  couple hours it didn't crease or really cake up on the side of my nose/smile lines which is a norm for me usually. Yup, needs no further explanation, this is also one of my many loots in Korea, I’ve gotten so many of them and I guess this very much will last me for years!

Precious Mineral BB Cream Kit

 

This is also my first time trying the precious mineral BB cream(s)! 

They all have this really nice light scent that's not overpowering at all *thumbs up*

Similar to most BB creams in the market, they have SPF 30 PA++ in them, any protection from the harmful UV rays is always good and a MUST!

Blooming fit gives this more glowy watery look, probably more suited for girls with dry/normal skin type, the Cotton Fit is great for combi skin like mine, it helps with coverage for huge pores and spreads on real nicely I like that it dries to a nice matte finish as well. 

After trying all 3 of them, I know I’ve found my winner! Perfect fit seems to give me the best finish! It doesn't leave any sticky feel yet it looks slightly glowy yet provide pretty good coverage, all in that little tub! Seems like I've found my winner and I know which bb cream to get in Korea next week!

Wonder Pore Special WOW Kit

I was actually using this Wonder Pore special wow kit when I was staying in Taiwan for my Makeup Artist course earlier this year during summer! I have run out of my usual skincare and I've gotten the kit when I was shopping at etude house for my favourite Kissful Lip Choux (I've worn this lip tint in Shade 1 for the past few years and I've always gotten compliments, best lip tint ever!!) 

How it looks like on my lips, I love love love it!

I've even used this lip tint on some of my brides who request for the korean bridal look for their actual day makeup too because it looks so sweet and "juicy" and yet it last forever yet feels so light on their lips with no sticky feel whatsoever.  

So back to the Wonder Pore skincare series, my favorite is the soap! It has this minty scent and it makes my oily skin feels oh soooo clean!

I use the total pore solutions only on my nose and cheek area when my pores are most visible and it gets absorbed into the skin real quick!

Age Defense Skin Care Kit

The age Defense kit comes with 3 products - the essential softener, emulsion and firming cream.

I thought the softener would be really thick and sticky but it's always quite watery and absorbs into the skin real quick, leaving skin smooth and prepped and ready for the next step.

Had some troubles getting the emulsion out since the bottle is hard and impossible to squeeze and the emulsion is too thick to be "shaken" out of the bottle too haha so I used a q tip to dig it out, again the emulsion was hydrating enough yet doesn't leave a sticky feeling, it's nice but I wonder if it will work for slightly more matured skin since this is afterall the Age Defense range.

Ahhhh ok, i guess if you use all 3 steps with the firming cream it will be hydrating enough I like that the age Defense firming cream feels rich and creamy, keeps the skin really moisturised but yet doesn't leave a sticky after feel. 

For oily skin girls, this is the most important point that we look out for when picking out a suitable range of skincare for sure!!

Back to my trusty Clover Hair Boutique for a change for the end of 2015!

You know, I always look forward to my hair salon appointments at Clover Hair Boutique. They did a fabulous job when I went to get my hair done for my wedding.

I actually have brides telling me that they want to dye their hair lighter for their wedding hairdo, but don't dare to because they are afraid that the salon will screw up their hair color and in the end they just don't have a salon they can go to that they trust, and I sooooo get they are coming from because hair is so so important and if you can't even trust your stylist to do a good enough job that's really sad.

And especially on your wedding day it has to be perfect right?! But black hair will sometimes look like just a lump of hair if the brides request for a intricate braid hairdo etc, i usually advice my brides to dye a lighter brown tone if they want to see the details of their hairdo to show up nicely on photos.

I decided it's time for a new color by Senior Stylist Gino. 

Previously he previously did my Violet red + Chilli Red ombre highlights which i love love love.

But I realized I've done so many reds this year!! Gooooorgeous bright ass in your face kinda red, violet red, balayage red. So I wanted a change of color tone for this end of the year!

 I had to bleach my hair twice to get all the red tones out of my hair, went to get my 1st round of bleaching on Thursday night and back on Friday for the 2nd bleaching and color wise, I've pretty much given Gino the freedom to let him do whatever he wants hahaha i have MAJOR hair envy for his cool hair color + hairdo so i know that I can trust him when it comes to color!

 So Gino was done with his color magic and a fabulous haircut by the salon Director Raymond, my hair was 10000000000x lighter and way cooler than when i stepped into Clover Hair Boutique!

 Walked out of the salon like literally 走路有风 HAHAHAHA 

I don't think I've ever done this color ever, thanks Gino, I FREAKING LOVE IT! The violet highlights really perfected the whole look. He really has great taste in these color combination man. I can't never think of up such a cool combi if it was up to me haha!

I honestly expected that my hair will be like super dry like a stack of hay after bleaching it not once but twice so we can get all the red out, but their PRO FIBRE treatment is so good! ♡
